Transition Programme

Age & Developmental stages

Transition starts from home into the Centre, and then it takes place from infants to toddlers to young children and then finally to school.  Together with parents we are able to provide a supportive programme for all children of all ages and developmental stages.

1 -2 Years of Age

Infants

Our services have rich learning spaces for all under two year olds. They are safe and healthy physical environments. Our teaching team offer programmes that are sensitive, responsive and provide expressive interactions between the infant and adult. Infants learning is extended through their sensory development stages: These include hearing, what they touch, feel, taste, see and smell.

2-3.5 Years of Age

Toddlers

Through our experiences, toddlers have a desire to explore new objects, and people. These developmental stages, toddlers show greater independence, they reflect behavioural changes, they recognise themselves more and imitate the behaviour of others, especially adults and older children. Our team are qualified and experienced and have provided a variety of learning areas to extend their emerging interests.

3.5-5 Years of Age

Young children

Young children develop self help skills and are given opportunities to do things independently.  They have already gone through many transitional stages from infants to toddlers and now young children.  Through observations and assessments, teachers are able to plan specific programmes for those who are preparing to transition to School.  These programmes help develop their literacy, and numeracy skills while also considering their holistic developmental stages.
